Hey Everyone: I went with the Lowrance portable power source powered by 8 (D) batteries and comes in a box that holds the fishfinder as well.

My question is what settings(for lake fishing only) do use in your fish finder. Also my temp guage said the water was 32 degrees; which I know in not right.

I also mounted the tranducer with velcro and a foam pad to the bottom of the sail mast inside the hull of the boat and used a gob of vasaline on the bottom for good contact. Let me know any tips. P.S. caught a nice 2lbs large mouth on that trip.
