New to hobie and forum. I have The quest fish. This is awesome. Quick question, any help would be great. I am looking to transport my hobie (57 lbs) and my husbands Ocean kayak (46 lbs) from VA to NH. My van rack is rated for 100 lbs Is this do-able or should I only take one yak. The ( j style) racks probably weigh about 5 ish lbs.
Thx

Is that a two crossbar rack and if so, is each crossbar rated at 100#. If it is a item that came with the vehicle I would think the dealership would be able to answer this. I would sure hate to say OK and have something go wrong. Often the rating on something like this is placed lower than the actual "what it can do" point to help assure not over using.

Where in NH?

if you are going to be traveling a lot I would recommend upgrading to a Thule bar.
