The specks were loving the top-water lure yesterday. I was fishing the down wind drop off of some oyster shoals.

It was a blast watching them strike the bait. A couple of them had missed the bait on the first strike and came back for the hook up. On top of all this, the fights were aggressive which added to the thrill.

Unfortunately, I ripped the larger ones lip but all were released to fight another day.

It does get in the way of certain casting angles, but it is a worthwhile trade off.
The biggest obstruction was the main sheet running overhead. Scrumpy and Stobbo have some advice on how to get the sheet out of the way. Check out the end of this post for more info. on that: http://www.hobiecat.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=47259

I have not tried it yet but have read that it's not too difficult to remove the mast and sail and stow it along side of the kayak.

I just watched Yakass' video titled: Paddlefield #1: Expeditions.

Talk about some great fishing! These guys have no issue what so ever with the mast and main sheet getting in the way.

Check it out: http://modernkayakfishing.com/videos/627-paddlefield-1-expeditions
