Sorry I forgot to reset the date / time on the camera so all the pix are date/time stamped incorrectly (the last time I had batteries in the camera)
:? :? :?

Short report:
1 sand bass
2 white croakers
1 Sand dab
1 grey smoothhound shark
1 seal

Long report
Got to Cabrillo at @ 6 am
2 guys were unloading their yaks off their acura at the ramp.
Cool but not wind.
I start unloading and Pating (JIKSER) and his Outback buddy show up.
Bs'ed as usual got to launch @ 7
New hobie tank had some problems
Wouldn't self-prime and found out that if if you shut the tank off most of the water backs out.
1 little bit of tubing and a treaded PVC elbow and the second problem was fixed.
Got 2 healthy kayak scoops from Anthony, is there a buy one get one free I don't know about ?
Bait was a nice mix of lively chvoies and dines.
Made my way to Angels Gate and dropped down a chovy and a dine.
Picked up this Sand Dab on the other side of the Cabrillo entrance.

Although a dark and cloudy day traffic started around angels gate so I fell back to rock pile (pier 400 ?) right behind it.
Having never caught any BIG fish on a kayak( ok there was SNGF last year),
I was hoping this would be the year for some sort of sleigh ride.
Unfortunately after making my move I dropped down to new live baits.
Almost immeditely one was picked up by a seal and I was off on my sleigh ride.
This seal was jumping put of the water like a dolphin at a full clip.
Before I could cut the line he broke himself off.
Heres the bent hook

Bent the hook back and replaced the bait
Picked up this sandy

I was pulling in my last line ready to call it a day and it felt heavy.
Line started peeling off the reel and I thought it just might be the right kind.
Alas, twas not but el tiburon, grey smoothhound type
Got her to color , when she started doing the crocodile rock and roll
resulting in her getting wrapped up in excess line. Netted and carefully
unwrapped her.

Here were some quick water shots before her safe and successful release.
