The first time i used my sail kit the mast started out erect then it seemed to bend over to far, maybe the wind was too strong. It appeard to crack the plastic holder. This was the case as when i removed it it was cracked at the bottom. I received a replacement mast "seat" for the hole but it was too long to fit in, so I cut off a small piece from the bottom and screwed it in. Is it supposed to secure itself to the inside bottom of the hull somehow? It still leans over way too far as just the threads on top are holding it, any suggestions :(

The part needs to be trimmed to different lengths for different models. Look at the original one and copy.

It fits over a small fitting down in the hull. You have to line it up while threading in.
