You can find the picture story of our recent Cape Romano trip at the link below. On page 5, scroll down until you see the Google image of Marco Island and Goodland. Fishing for anything other than sea trout, jacks, and ladyfish was poor (we are not night fishermen like Redfishn’ale.) Still, I think you will find it interesting.

I wish I knew some People who would be into doing something like that. Great Post. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Element,

I have the benefit of having kayak-camped for years. I have one reliable AI camping partner but he has some medical problems and will likely be out of commission for 6 mo or more. But, I can always get a group of kayakers together to do most of the trips. If you can make your way down to S FL sometime between Nov 1-Apr 15, we can always put together a trip.

When you get comfortable with your AI, i.e., when you feel you can trust it, then you can do your own trip in your area. Your first trips do not have to long. A short trip or 2 will give you lots of experience, then you can extend your trips.

There may be a kayaking group in your area that would not mind your tagging along on a camping trip. Again, they can give you lots of advice.

If I can be of any help, just email me at kwellma at gmail dot com.

Keith
