like all the sailors said its not a sail boat but it work ok.

I recently maid a 6 mile trip with the sail and peddeling hybrid and it worked well enough to make the trip easy.

on the way back got caught in some weather and towards the end the wind picked up so the lack of rudder and dagger board was very apparnt but I had put in a roller furling system that I saw on youtube and it helped.

all in all just another toy to add to the toy to play with.

on another trip trawling on with the sail / peddeling i cought a nice fish.

all good.

P.S. the roller furling add on is really easy to make and put on.

Understanding that the PA is not a sailboat, nor was it intended to be a sailboat, the sail kit does add another dimension to an already incredible boat.

I built a new mast from carbon fiber to increase the stiffness in that area - the diameter of the mast where it inserts into the hull is the limiting factor in terms of stiffness of course, but it you're willing to spend a few more dollars you can improve on the factory aluminum mast.

All in all I thought it sailed fairly well for what it is. On a close haul I've done 6.2mph in a pretty good wind and even though the boat rolled heavily I never felt that it was going to overturn or dump me out. A pretty forgiving "sailboat" all in all.

With the ability to furl the sail, it's a nice addition to the boat and one I highly recommend for anybody that wants use their PA beyond a strictly fishing purpose.
