Post subject:  Older Outback Sail
I have a Hank Parker Edition Outback (not too sure of the year, but it has the turn lock hatch not bungee, if that helps), and was wondering if sailing is still good on it? I had heard some issues with the rudders maybe not getting enough control or other things but am not too sure. Any insight appreciated I've been craving some sailing :D . Thanks everyone

You'll be just fine. That was my 1st Hobie sailer too. It isn't as good a sailer as some of the others but it will still satisfy your cravings perfectly well. (the lack of rudder area issue related to the Adventures which, being longer, take more turning)

Don't forget that in a pinch your paddle can be a rudder/daggerboard... Put it on the side the boat seems to be leaning toward.

Of course, this takes away a hand when you probably already are using both, but it might help to try out.

You can enlarge your rudder surface with a slip-over attachment. Thin plastic sheeting. Make it yourself and then it will sail just as well as the newer ones with the larger sailing rudders.
