Been sailing a few times now with my Oasis and love it. I have a furling mechanism, boom batten, and the main sheet running forward to a second microblock and then snatch cleat
. Its the simple thing thats giving me a problem. I have a Harken 224 microblock for the mainsheet attached to the read padeye (where the Tee handle is attached). Whether I have the mainsheet coming around the sheave from the top or from the bottom, the forward screw head of the padeye begins to catch the sheet and begins to work like a snatch block - not a good situation. I see that the Harken 234 block with shackle has also been used and I guess that I could just add a separate shackle into the system, but that changes the orientation of the block from up and down to sideways. Somehow that doesnt seem like it would let the sheet cross over midline well.
Am I missing something here?
Any pictures out there of an Oasis rear block rigging that works smoothly?
Many thanks to all!!
