Post subject:  Tandem Mirage Conversion Kit Manual for Sailing?

Hi all,

I just bought an Outfitter with a sail kit and wonder how to rig the sail? There were no instructions in the bag, and the sail kit pdf I downloaded from this site says if you have a tandem Mirage, "Ignore steps 5 and 6 shown here [this is how to rig the line] and consult your conversion kit manual."

Where can I find this conversion manual?

Incidentally, I am in Columbus, Ohio, which is not a hotbed for Hobie. The dealer here takes orders but does not have much in stock and didn't prep the kayak or, obviously, direct me how to rig the sail.

Thanks,

Richard Gilbert

Thanks, Deck Hand. I printed it out. Also another board member emailed me and said he didn't need an conversion kit for his outfitter. Maybe that is outdated info that an extra kit is needed or applies to other models.

yeah, i had the same question.

Looks like I didn't need it either...things worked out of the box.

I did add the home-made PVC Furler device that many have posted here...which I HIGHLY recommend

the other easy upgrade is to add a pulley on the back of the boat, instead of running the line(sheet for purists) thru the same loop as the the handle. Even the Home depot puley will do (cheaper than the marine counterpart).

The other upgrades I did were those self-locking cleats...I added one for the sail line and one for the furler....very handy
