I only sail in salt water and I am having corrosion on my aka's. The folks at West Marine tell me that there is an electric reaction going on between the steel screws and the aluminum aka's They recommend that I attached a piece of zinc to the akas so that so that it,rather than the aka, corrodes. Has anyone else had this problem? If zinc is the answer, all I can find at West Marine are clunky chuncks of zinc that are going to look bad and provide another place to snag a line. Is there another option that anyone is aware of? |
