Post subject:  Hobie Adventure Island model

Hi Guys: I just saw a Hobie ad in NG Explorer showing a new model of the Adventure called the Island. It appears to be a Hobie Adventure with a larger sail and twin outriggers. Has anyone heard of this model? If so where can I find out more about this. I have experience sailing the Outback and Sport model and would like to go to a model with a much larger sail. Thanks, Ray J

it looks like it going to be a fast seller so you may want to start talking about putting a deposit down on one. The dealers should get a shipment in September...maybe

Thanks,

Hi guys; after all this pics of new AI, what matters is to know how much speed adds the new design compared to the current configurations available.

The second thing is if Hobie had its current customers in mind and if the new sail and outriggers will fit my Hobie Outfitter (i.e.) :x

No the rig will not adapt to the Outfitter or any other model. Too much sail area!

This has been clocked at over 10 knots. I didn't have a GPS or way of showing speed one day when I had it planeing. It is fast.

Post subject:  Last chance...

Thanks for your reply, Mr Miller. My last doubt -and sorry for my perseverance, is the need to improve de sailing efficiency of my Outfitter , as we are two people and the new model is for only one.

Of course as you replied to my last post too many sail area but, maybe i could buy the retractable amas to stabilice it, adding them to my hull making my own necessary inserts on it...?

I hope I´d also need to increase de rudder size and to buy a dagger board putting it in the place of the bow mirage drive. Do u agree?

If you tell my i could have a chance, approximate price of that sail&amas kit?

Distance between the masts that hang the amas?

Well that´s all, thank´s for you time.

Island sail and ama kit? I don't have any pricing yet nor do I have specifications. I can say right off... this will not work as a retrofit.
