Post subject:  Replacement parts for Sidekick
Hi there,

I recently managed to break one of the side arms of the Hobie Sidekick Ama Outrigger kit and I'm having a hard time to fix it. I tried to remove the plastic left inside the broken arm but it seems it is glued in there really good. I'm going to try to melt it in the grill. To fix it I'm thinking of sacrificing one of the paddles by removing the locking plastic (I have no idea how I'm going to do that yet).

Does anybody knows if I can buy a new/used arm and not drive myself crazy with repairs? It looks like the kayak stores sell individually every component of the outrigger kit but the side arms:

I don't want to buy a whole new kit just for a broken piece of plastic :(.

If you'll send your request to ACK, they will generally either have or be happy to get the individual part for you. They don't list every single part on their website, but they do have access to them and can get them quickly.

Thanks a lot Tom! You are right, it is sold separably as I found out from another web site. I tried to melt the damn thing at 600F in the grill but that plastic is very tough. I was just about to light it up on fire when I saw your reply.
Thanks again, you probably saved me from burning the garage :).

you dont have to melt the plastic, only the glue holding the plastic in. see my post in this thread at the bottom
