Post subject: | Help with proper use of daggerboard |
I've had an Adventure for a couple of months. Just got a daggerboard. Must have hooked it up wrong, because the bungi kept pulling it up out of the hole. -Is the bungi to hold it down in sailing position? -Where does it attach, then? |

The bungee attaches to a button behind the daggerboard slot in the vicinity of the top of your right thigh when sitting in the seat.... however I find that when I have mine set up in that way the bungee tends to cause the daggerboard to lift out of the slot which may be what you have been experiencing. In practise I find that there's no need to bungee the daggerboard in place on my boat; it seems to stay in the vertical position without the bungee so I often/usually don't bother with it, but this may depend on the precise dimensions of the slot on my boat: if the board was more slack in the slot perhaps the bungee would be essential to keep it vertical... ? |
