Hi Guys, Recently picked up a 2001 A.I. and finally assembled it (in the garden!) today. When I had the sail out I noticed that the furling line seemed a bit short (it was almost out or reach). This is how it's currently rigged: Does that look okay? And this is how much mainsheet and furling line I have when the sail is fully furled. Again, does this look about right? Being an A.I. newbie, I'd appreciated any comments or suggestions on re-rigging or adjusting the lines. Cheers, Mike. |

The downhaul line and furling line aren't supposed to be the same line. The downhaul line is the same type rope, but should be supplied as a short section. This may be why you don't seem to have enough furling line when the sail is fully opened. ............. |

Mike, What Tom said! Did you get the manual with the boat? If not you can download it from the support links in the FAQ's here: viewforum.php?f=114 All the FAQ's should be required reading for any new AI owner. Especially note how the daggerboard bungee is threaded. |

Something else you might be interested in if you want a 3 to 1 system for both people - it can be done with the same sheet, assuming you have communication between the "crew" while underway. http://youtu.be/3EU0QV7ssNQ |

Thanks for the replies guys... I have a copy of the A.I. manual (although the copy I downloaded still refers to the 'older' style A.I. - published September 2006!). Any chance of a few photos of your setups? Also, can anyone suggest the type of knot I should use. I'm a bit hopeless in this area - I know a few fishing knots, but nothing that's of any use when rigging an A.I.! Cheers, Mike. |

I use a bowline on the attachments points on the sail and first pulley. |
