I purchased the Galaxy S5 and Navionics (the better Aus one, not the Canadian charts).
Did an adventure trip on the weekend from Kingston On the Murray to Lake Bonney
in South Australia - 6.7 Nm in 3 Hours 21 mins. It is a creek which feeds the lake
from the River and winds through a dense forrest with lots of overhanging trees.
Had to leave the sail behind and bent the shafts on both mirage drives and sheered
the pin in the outboard (replaced on the run). Two of those terrible standard kayaks
accompanied us but I was impressed with their paddling for over 3 hours. They (we)
were buggered when we arrived at Lake Bonney even after a break for lunch. So
we motored (3 HP noisy 2 stroke outboar on the TI) back and towed one kayak on a
rope and the other held on to the aka.
Hey, that's my left foot in the picture, now I'm a star
This wasn't meant to be a trip report but a test of the output file from Navionics.
Nohuhu tried this and it brought up the track in his Navionics on his iPad.
Here is the link to the file -
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/135 ... 202014.kmzIf anyone would like to try and open it in Google Earth, let us know if it works.
Matt may put this on his FAQ if it works ok.
My intention is to place interesting trip reports and in particular thekmz files in the Australia
forum rather than clutter up this area with tracks that you guys cannot do.
