Coffs Harbour, Australia
The turns are a bit sluggish because I did not bother inserting the Skeg on these broad reaches.
However very pleased with the performance overall, one small niggle I noticed the new seat is not easy to lean out of like the bucket was as there are no sides to prop your hip against.
(Sorry 'bout the girly AMA Tony, not as skilled as you :P)

nice video. Looks like a nice place to test sailing gear and practice.

Those drone shots are great Max and that Star sail is looking good. 8)
You were moving along OK in what were only light winds.
So the new style seat is not as effective for hiking out? My concern with the stiff framed sides was that it would get uncomfortable leaning out for long periods. One reason why I haven't upgraded.
The drag from the ama is evident. You would be moving quicker without them ...that is if you were still upright!
I never sail without the daggerboard and have it down on all points of sail, just for the stability it gives in kayak mode.

Yeah I hear what you are saying, at these speeds DB Down constant works better, this estuary has many sandbars that I had just crossed so I basically forgot to put it down again...

No doubt the speed is compromised by the balloons, much thought at our workshop has been put in to constructing a sleek AMA alternative similar to the AI, mounting position and strength being the main thwarts.

The 3SqMt Star sail is a real wing and flies like one, not surprising as it is designed by a hang-glider sail manufacturer. You can see the set is wrinkle-free, I leave the optional boom in even when not Downwind as it does not straighten the sail Foot.

I don't want to crit the new seat, it is better in all respects except the ability to hang out, which makes Hobie pilots like us a minority of fringe crazies in the marketing world.

Somehow I like that..
