The Starboard Starboard Bow Tang on my Hobie 20 is loosening up so it moves approx. 1/8 inch fore and aft.
It still seems to be anchored in solid so I dont think I am in immediate danger of de-masting.
(This is where the jib bridle wires attach)
This is on the 2006 Starboard Hull. My 2000 Port Hull is solid.
Are other sailors seeing this? (I know Mikey also has this on his Hobie 20 )
Matt -is there a fix for this?

Thanks.

The fitting is a long (2 parts welded together) piece that bolts to the inner bulk head. Some movement is possible without it being a problem. Some of what seems to hold it more rigid in the beginning is the sealant around where it passes through the hull. Once that breaks down it does wiggle a bit due to the length of the part.

I have a hand drawn diagram I did awhile back...

Not a structural issue... simply cosmetic. :)

That's merely flesh-wound, nothing to see here, move along.... :)

Was the duct tape pre-injury or post ?

Dude pulled off another race with the duct tape.

A similar repair:

Donor Bow:

Glue it and screw it with a custom made jig that was built from the other hull:

Wait a second. In the first pic it looks like the deck part of the bow is damaged but in the next two it looks like the waterline section is damaged. Is this the same repair?
