The sail track in the mast for the mainsail is in three sections. The lower section is part of the aluminum extrusion, the middle section is plastic and part of the CompTip and the last twelve inches is an aluminum extrusion that's also part of the CompTip.

The aluminum extrusion on the CompTip is a little smaller that the plastic section to the bottom ends have been flared out so the bolt rope won't hang up. You may find (I did) that the flare is not enough and the bolt rope will hang up.

The easy fix is to bend the flare out very slightly and touch up the inside edges with a fine file so the bolt rope covering doesn't get shredded.
