Post subject:  Carpet or Neoprene Dagger Well Kit?

Does anybody have any thoughts on which is supperior, the carpet or neoprene dagger well kit? My carpet is getting pretty ratty looking. The neoprene kit is only $17, the carpet kit is $65. I'll pay for the more expensive one if there's a reason it would be better.

Thanks,

These are two very different kits. The carpet is related to the dagger hold at the top. The neoprene is a slop and board chip prevention for the botton / back of the well.

In your case... its carpet or a daggerboard roller kit (Positive hold system) #40330101 ($76.75 USA 9/2010)

This kit was standard on newer 20's.

I've bought the Neoprene Dagger Well Kit. It consists of a strip of neoprene that's about 8 inches long, comes with some adhesive, but no instructions. It was obviously made for people smarter than me. My assumption is that I'm to cut the strip in half. But am I to glue the resulting 4" strips vertically in the back of the well? Perhaps they mount horizontally, making a taco shell shape that covers both sides of the aft part of the dagger well. Another idea is to cut the stip into 8x 1" piecies and stick one at each corner of each well - I doubt it. So what am I supposed to do with the Neoprene Dagger Well Kit? Thanks for your help,

Oh, Wow! I just noticed that I've been upgraded to Admiral. You'd think I'd be able to figure out a simple strip of neoprene! There goes my credibility .

You are supposed to bite down on the neoprene whenever you hit something with the board; saves your teeth :-)

The Taco u-shape in the aft lower corner of the trunk is correct.

Thanks. There have been a couple of times when I needed to bite down on something!
