Did you get the boat you are talking about? What are your plans for the boat? Tomales bay is a great place to sail. Not sure if Eric has had his out yet. Ryan

When I purchased my Hobie 20 (Used), I drained about 3 gallons out of the starboard hull that had accumulated in the front. I agree with the previous posts - I would try to use a wire snake to poke through to the front before putting a hole in the boat to drain it. I would also consider trying to put the boat upside down on carpet or grass to try and have it drain out of the bow tang. |

Thanks- that's just what I was looking for. How hard is it fully disassemble a H20 (crossbeams, tramp off, mast down, ruuders off)? |

I've got a very new black mesh H20 tramp for $650. It was installed for one race and the boat was damaged. We have unclogged several H20 bulkhead clogs. Give a ring if you need assistance. Also there are 2 H20s for sale here in div 3 for cheap (hundreds$$) that definitely need some work. One has corrosion all the way around the mast at the tang and the hulls were crushed sideways by a powerboat at the dock, and the other has very soft, but repaired hulls. Inspect them thoroughly before buying, and know that you're buying a project. |

I owned a H20 with the same issue of water in the front bulk head, Water came in from the front tangs on the inner hulls by the bow. With the help of the local dealer we flipped the boat over and drilled the bottom of the hull where the bulkhead meets the bottom of the hull to create the drain in the bulk head. Then we repaired the drill hole in the bottom of hull. All fixed and this was over 10 years ago. |
