I have an old Hobie 20 mast with a new comptip that is not yet installed. The first comptip was broken at the joint. It was like this when I bought the boat, so I'm not sure what caused it, but I sailed with the fractured, angled mast for about six months before I attempted to take the mast apart to see why it was not straight (I noticed the angle at the comptip while stepping the mast long before this, but it was solid feeling and fast). The seperate comptip is better for shipping so I haven't installed it yet. If anyone needs a mast, please contact me here. I still have the 20, but I have no need for the second mast. |
