Well, I'm batting a thousand. I've sailed my 20 three times and flipped it three times. It went to turtle very quickly, within 60 seconds or so. I will check my mast for being sealed, but it seems like that wouldn't even matter. I got it back over quickly the first two times but the third was a bear. Thoughts?

Depends on the wind angle hitting the tramp and driving the mast down... and any crew weight hanging from the hulls.

Once turtled, stand on the lee side and if possible stand on the hull hanging on the righting line. This lifts the weather hull and assists in drifting the hulls down wind to get the boat back on its side.

Must have been the wind hitting the tramp, 20 knts., I'll be sailing in the surf in a month and am a little concerned about turtling in the shallows/surf. Is a baby bob enough?, to keep the mast up along with making sure it's waterproofed. I'm having a blast on this thing and I certainly don't mind flipping, if it wasn't so gusty I'm sure I could have saved it. I like riding the hull high. I'm not a bob guy at all and certainly not a milk jug guy, but I don't want to turtle everytime I go over and would like to go with the smaller bob if possible. Just wondering if it's enough flotation. The 16 sits more to 12 o'clock on it's side compared to the 20, I guess because of the increased beam, which doesn't help.:)
