hy,
my name is mike and i live in quebec city. i have the sail number 393.
since i got the boat three years ago i enjoy her very much and i'm sailing as much as i can .but i have a big rudder problem.: my rudders are breaking constantly. last saturday i went out sailing 3 hours and my rudder broke. this is the one ai just repaired with 5 layers of matt and rowing.it is broken one inch down from the external screw.
last year i bought a new one, but after a month it was broken.now it will be 7 or 8 times i repair my rudders(2 out of three are at a shop for repairs)
Please somebody tell me what is happpening becose i don't know what to do.
i don't hit anyhing, i don't seem to have rudder helm, both of them look parallel.
does somebody knows what is happening ?
thank you
mike
how can i add the photo of my hobie here?

The Hobie 20 rudder has an odd shape that focuses loads to the leading edge in the lower casting. Repairing a fractured blade is difficult as you have discovered.

I would suggest changing the rudders to the EPO2.
