Hello there.
This summer we got a Cat 16, spend all summer sailing and learning how to in West Island Fairhaven, MA. I will keep sailing there until I need and icebreaker, but next season 2014 I need to find a new place to sail. The house in front of the beach is gone.
I live in Queens NY (Long Island City) and I was wondering how the sailing and storage around NYC works, Long Island, NJ, UpState lakes.... We will love to keep sailing next year but as new sailors in NY we don't have a good idea what are the possibilities and more important the more accessible ones if you are a NYC resident with a limited bank account. We have a car and a trailer for the monster.
Our boat will be park in New Paltz NY for the winter and I can use that place as a base camp to go back and forward, but I will like to have something closer with out living our salary on it.
In any case I just want to know what is the best and more economic "workflow" for sailing if you live NYC.

Thanks,
M.
