Dave,
I would love nothing more than to be wrong on this one. We've done a lot of good work up here in the PNW to build the Tiger/F18 presence. 17 Tigers in Division 4 now , with 15 actively racing. I'd hate to have to choose one over the other.

I am encouraged that you find no downside to the new boat. And the influx of more affordable Tigers would only serve to strengthen our numbers up here.

We'll see you in California next year for sure!
:P

So Dan,
What are the mods that make the Tiger more competitive?

Looks like it's got a Tiger's rig. Nothing too radical.

Doesn't appear to have a wing mast, but it's really hard to tell.

Different rudders than the pics from the boat show, they almost look like the previous generation rudders that were on the tiger, and not the skinny ones that were on display.

The chine in the hull is interesting. The inverted bow is just like the Fox. I would think this boat would be much dryer due to this design enhancement. The Fox really has a tendency to pull water up the bow and spray it back at you, the chine would stop that and direct the water behind the sailors, therefore much dryer. Can't see what other purpose it could serve as its not below the waterline.

I don't know if the fox behaves the same as the FXone, but water slides over the top of the bow then hits the beam and shoots straight up. In rough water, its a very wet ride.
