The boat is awesome. We like our new Wild Cat - Greg and I look forward to sailing it next week in Long Beach. See you guys up there this coming weekend!

Jacques...those RED sails are kinda sexy. You and Greg should come up to Toronto for the Canadian F18's after Long Beach...bring the Wildcats with you. 35 boats already pre-registered. Should have a fleet north of 40. I know Olivier will have one. Maybe a few others from Quebec.

Good luck and kick a$$ in LB.

The red sails really are fricken awesome. Does HCE make the sails, or is it Ullman? I'd love to get a set for the FXone.

Tiger / Wild Cat sails come from the Ullman loft in Italy.

I'd rather have the hobie 16's

That only tells me that you have either not sailed a Formula 18 or there is a huge Hobie 16 fleet in your area and no racing in the Formula fleet. Because there is no comparison in performance between the two. I think Volkswagen Beetle (36Hp) compared to Formula 1 Car is a close analogy, but without that price discrepancy. Out here the Formula 18 has proved to be a great boat and a great fleet!

I know that other parts of the country are not ready to take the plunge and that the 16 is the boat you can get a good fleet to...I hope that is why you would rather have two of them.

Dan,

One area of the country that supports BOTH the H16 and F18 in large numbers...the NE United States and SE (Ontario, Quebec) Canada. Look at Syracuse, NY (H16) and Toronto, ON (F18) as examples. I know the left coast is another. You and Eileen should come up to Canada in a few weeks for the CAN F18's. But bring your woolies  .

Good luck at the F18 NA's.

Well I have to agree with Tom, if i were to buy a Wildcat, I would not be actively racing, but i would sail the crap out of the boat, I like light wind and very high wind ,this boat should do great in both conditions. I just have to save up and find one. How is the availability of these boats?

In the photo gallery of the Wild Cat the rudder system seems to use lines to raise and lower each rudder instead of using the cross bar/tiller combo I'm used to. Can someone explain how the Wild Cat rudder system works?
