Hi Everyone,

Im wondering if I could please get some feedback on buying a Hobie Tiger F18 approx 2002 model - give or take.
Im currently a Hobie 18 sailor and didnt know about common faults such as cracking cross beam/extrusions. Turns out it is quiet an expensive hobby sailing!

Apart from general hull softness, etc are they are items specific to the Hobie Tiger I should be looking at?
are there common failure points as I dont want to buy a lemon! Possibly items that are not obvious on the surface ie wear a tear under the cross beams?

really appreciate any feedback that can be offered.

Thanks!

Other than the beams as I have heard nothing about beams failing, check the tightness of the hull to beam fit. Also check the dagger pockets for signs of impact.
I also recomend changing all standing rig. Diamonds shrouds and forstay. I change mine out every 2 years. Alot of stress on the mast whilre flying the spin.
Ather than that its a standard hobie.
