| Post subject: | Adding a mast mounted spin cleat, how high? |
Hey all, I'm switching from the older style single line spin system to a separate tack and spin halyard setup, less friction and fuss I've heard. Anyway, how high up from the mast base should the cleat be? 36"? Thanks in advance! |

Personal preference of the crew. Some like it low on the mast so they can pull from their knees or in an upward position when standing. Some like it high so they're pulling straight from the mast when standing. If placed high on the mast the cleat should be around chest height of the crew in a hoisting position. |
