It may be a little early yet but the preliminary schedule needs to be amended or clarified to show racing on Saturday...it doesn't at this point. People are already making vacation allocations for this event. The sooner the basic racing days schedule is finalized the better. All the other stuff filling the schedule is fluff

I understood it as the trophy presentation and no sailing. That's why it needs to be clarified and consistent. Thanks for looking into this.

"Yes, racing will be on Saturday.  Due to a conflict with the PRO and some volunteers the racing will be run Tuesday – Saturday.  We will finish early on Saturday so people can pack up and get out of there at a reasonable hour.

Bob is spot on about the volunteer/pro issue affecting the schedule. But it should allow an extra practice / exploration day.
It is going to be a great event, we have a great group of racers organizing the event with a ton of help from Hyannis YC. This is one of the most prestigious YCs in the country and they are really excited to host our event!
We have also arranged for some great housing options, more to be revealed soon.

On a side note:
I am the local Hobie dealer at 15 minutes away from Hyannis YC. If anyone would like to purchase a Wildcat to pick up at the event or charter one please let me know. I'm not sure if a charter will be available but it depends on the interest. email me at Todd at sturgisboatworks.com
We can also get anyone new sails or any other parts you may need.

One thing that PU taught me is that the class should decide the schedule and that it should not be influenced by the prospective PRO's schedule. As a PRO, you can either do the whole event or not do the whole event.

I have nothing against Tom Duggan, but to shape the event around his schedule is BS. It puts his needs ahead of the needs of the sailors - his schedule is more important than yours.

Not at all. I'm just saying that the F18 class has a lot more influence than they give themselves credit for. The venue should be catering to them, not the other way around.

The F18 guys putting this event couldn’t be happier. The Hyannis YC is catering to the F18 class and we appreciate it very much.
