Post subject:  Tiger construction question

Hi sailors.

I got a big problem this week end: I hit an underwater steel pipe and got my right hull badly damaged. On several places the external skin (no damage to the internal skin) has been punctured around the daggerboard well.
I fixed this with a very performing 3M compound (with fiber in it) and faired it properly so the result is not too bad.

I was considering finishing my season like this, and bring the boat at the repair shop in november.

But,
I know that this cannot be 100% waterproof, so my question is: Is the sandwich foam a closed cell one, meaning that water cannot sneak in and contaminate a large area, or am i in danger to have my hull pumping kgs of water by capillarity and destroying the sandwich, in this case I would have to bring the boat immediatly to the repair shop to have it sealed and my season is over?

thanks to help a Tiger sailor in distress!
