Hi, I need to install a Hobie daggerboard hold down kit on a Tiger. I have searched for the proper technique to install the kit, but have come up empty. Oddly, the kit I received from Hobie, did not have instructions. Is there a preference for a location to install the kit. The few photos I have been able to locate, show the kit installed at the widest point in the daggerboard well. Also, how close to the daggerboard, or overlap into the well should I go. I plan on racing the Tiger, and from the looks of it, I could adjust the pressure against the daggerboard control how easily it moves.

We don't have a boat to measure this for you - sorry, But you can just place the mount in the center of the board - and then rubber parts are slotted so you can loosen or tighten them (usually after a while you need to move them in towards the board as they wear out from age) to hold the board in place when it's lifted. You just drill a couple small holes int he deck using the mount as your guide - and then use the self tapping screws into the hull - with a dab of epoxy or silicone or similar. It's plenty strong to screw fittings onto the deck. That's how it's down at the factory.
