Hello, could anybody suggest me a product (teflon based?) to lubrificate my gennaker? I set the soft hobie sock and the hard mouth on my Tiger and I am in trouble everytime I have to drop this sail down. I also need to know the best way to use it. Thank you. |

This is good stuff too. Our sail loft has used this stuff by the gallon when installing in-mast/in-boom furling mains. McLube Sailkote. Brian C |

I have used the Holmenkol on my spinnaker and like it very much. I use the McLube locally on the main luff but it does not last as long, I think. The Holmenkol is a two part system that you have to sponge on or dip in a bucket to apply. You do not spray it on! You get about 90 minutes to apply it. One application takes care of two F18 spinnakers but you can use it 1/2 at a time with careful measuring. Best is to split the cost with a friend and do both chutes at the same time. Later, Dan |

Thank you for lightspeed replies, I've yet used mc lube spray for the main sail and I think it's very useful (I can hoist this sail without any effort). How often do I have to lubrificate the gennaker, how can I see when it's time to do it? Bye, mattvin |

You're somewhat correct about the aerosol Sailkote. Sailkote can also be bought in a non-aerosol form (also pretty much applied with a mop). In that form, it lasts a long time. The Homenkol may be more available in Italy. I did not find an Italian source for Sailkote. Brian |

So.... It sounds like you apply this to the whole sail, and the sock? I wouldn't have guessed this. |

Whole sail yes, sock optionally. |
