Greetings all. I have just flown a spin for my first time this past weekend. It was great (although i learned i shouldnt have brought my girlfriend out for this....).

Anyway, i was curious where everyone gets their chutes? Where can i purchase good used ones? I am flying a Tiger chute and it is very worn, more patches than the aids quilt and dont expect it to last.

I would LOVE to see pictures of your boats with the chutes as well... please post em here.

thanks

Tiger chutes are available through your local Hobie Dealer. After market are available from any sail maker. My favority is Ullman. Charlie Ogletree (Tornado/A Cat sailor) is my point of contact, his email address is cogletree at ullmansails dot com

Purchasing a "good" used one is tough since most people keep their used ones for when they aren't racing and by the time they order another new spin the practice one is quite exhausted. A good one thats seen little action will probably run 500-700 $ and are rare. If all you're looking for though is one thats not all patched up then just ask around and put up looking for adds on some of the cat sites, should be able find one in decent shape in the 300-400 range.

Yeah I can usually find a used, in okay shape, chute for around the $300 range if you are interested. Right now I can get you a white Tiger chute or a yellow and gray Nacra F18 made by Skip Elliot. The Elliot may be a bit more as it has not been used as much, I think $350 for that one. The shipping and handling is usually about $15.
