Post subject:  Mike Hensel, New Area L Rep, US SAILING Multihull Council

Mike Hensel from Seattle was elected the new Area L Rep, at the US SAILING AGM in Phoenix last week. Mike is a Hobie FX-1, Tiger, and past Hobie 17 sailor. Peter Nelson, past Area Rep, has agreed to help Mike with his new dutys, including the Alter Cup Qualifier for the US SAILING Multihull Championship. Mike is a member of Fleet 95, Divison 4, and a tireless volunteer at Sail Sand Point, and all local sailing activities.

Mike helped train our local three Youth Teams for the Youth Multihull Championship last year. One team included his daughter Hanna. He was the first to volunteer to help train the teams for the 2008 Youth Multihull Champions, that will be held with the ISAF Youth World Quailifier at Long Beach, CA next Jan.

The US SAILING Area Rep responsibilies are listed at http://www.ussailing.org/multihull/area ... lities.asp

In addition to running the Area eliminations races for the US SAILING Multihull Championship (Hobie Alter Cup), the reps are the liaison for all Multihull sailors in the area, and work with local yacht clubs and sailing centers to promote training and youth activities.

Welcome Mike, and we look forward to your help with the new direction for US SAILING.

Caleb Tarleton, Multihull Council
