Post subject:  Land mines everywhere!

Since we are fixing and cleaning up SSP next weekend can we address the dog poop problems? There are signs posted claiming that the fine for dogs at the beaches may be up to $500. Now, I am not a dog hater but the amount of dog crap on the beach is ridiculous. You cannot rig your boat without wading through the turds.

It is becoming a health hazard. I sail quite there and it seems to me that this rule is widely ignored and the beach has become everyones dog fetch beach. If anyone brings there dog to our beach they should be asked to leave. Magnussen Park just up the rode is great place for their dogs and they can crap in the dirt.

Is there a pack of large wild dogs that constantly stop to dump on my sailing grounds??

Can we ask for the authority that posted the no dog sign to enforce siad rule?

Can anyone comment on this?

Jer

You are not mistaken, there is dog poop on the beach. But the majority of the waste is from the geese that hang out there.

This year there have been alot of dogs loose on the beach, thier owners letting them swim. There is a dog beach just down the park for them. The enforcement is concentrated in that area. None of that area has dog poop left on the ground.

Hopefully just making the Park aware will help the problem.

Note: some of the dogs that are running loose are from SSP users, if you see it happening, please remind them to pick up after thier dog.
