Hi everybody,
I'm racing on a 18SX and was wondering how many cats are gonna make it for the regatta. hope to see you there.

I think there will be about 8-10 F18s an FX One some H18 and who else knows.

Maybe more people will chime in.

Should be enough for a F18 start and a Open class start.

There will be an F-18 start that has been arranged with the regatta organizers. We expect at least 10 boats just from Vancouver (including 3 or 4 tigers).

If you want to race in an open fleet, I would suggest contacting Jericho as I do not believe they are planning on running one. It would be great if there were an H16, 17 and 18 starts, but you need to organize your fleets. (Similarly the Seattle NOOD)

This event is run by the Jericho Laser Fleet and has not traditionally included cats, though we did make sure of an F-18 start. I expect there will only be Laser, Radial, Tasar and F-18 starts.

You can contact them through www.jsca.bc.ca

Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Scott

Just called the Jerico Sailing Center and asked, and there will be an X class multi start if X-class boats show up.

Myself, I would just as soon start with the F18 group and see how I do against them on my FX One.

I would be a chance to see how it does against 7-8 Tigers and a Nacra.

we've had two practice sails and this is the owners first regatta so it should be a fun one. like there is any other kind of regatta.

If anyone is looking for a place to stay for the weekend let me know. We have a couple of extra beds as well as lots of floor space. We even have a built in alarm as the kids are up by 7:00 :)

Mike, I think we should ask the RC to start everyone together to keep things going. If there aren't too many X-class, we should also try to score everyone together. We can always break out the F-18s later.

Not yet Mike. Hopefully later in the summer. We'll talk when you're here.

Can anyone bring some Red Hook ESB? Don't know why we can't get it North of the border anymore.

hey everybody,
so it looks like we won't be bringing the 18SX over since the ferries would cost us $400! rather use that money to make the boat faster.
I still want to come over and race since it sounds like it will be an awesome regatta. so for those that don't know me here's a bit about myself.
I started racing hobies out of comox when I was 13(I'm 20 now), bought a 14 and a 16 both of which I have had to sell sadly. taught sailing at kelowna yacht club and deep cove yacht club, certified as a head instructor.
have been racing and sailing cats, dinghys and skiffs of all sorts.. racing on keelboats, most recently a hobie 33. sailing on the hobie 18SX right now and did harrison last year on Jerry V's tiger. I can do anything you need on a cat. I already have accomadations and transportation worked out.
so does anybody need last minute experienced crew or know somebody that is stuck on the beach with no crew?
send me an email at [email protected]
Thanks
Seamus
