Does anyone have any inside scoop as to when and where the 2010 Mid-Winters East will be held?

We haven't gotten the formal bid yet, but I imagine that Brad Stephens will again host it in Panama City, FL (Right, Brad?).

Last weekend in March has become the traditional time.

I'm working on it, I was sorta giving some time for someone else to also place a bid. I'm more than happy to do it and will get the ball rolling, now if I just had a PRO.....
we've been doing it the 3rd weekend in March so that would make it March 19th-21st 2010

The Mid-Winters East would probably draw a bigger crowd if it were held at the same site as next years 16 and 20 nationals in Fort Walton. I'd bet that a lot of potential Nationals competitors would use Midwinters as an excuse to come down and get an advance look at the Nationals site. Just a thought.

Not really. The Hobie racing crowd is very familiar with the FWB site, since we've been racing there since the early 80's. The logistics of running a smaller regatta there are brutal. Lots of fixed costs. Also, it would be tough to organize (manpower and equipment) and pull off with only 4 months' planning - plus you're burning out your volunteers hardly before you get started.

The site in Panama City isn't that far away from FWB and is much better suited for MWE.

Hey Brad,

What are the chances you'll have a Wave or two available to charter?

Just for everybody's information, the Singing River YC in Pascagoula, MS has submitted a bid for MWE 2010. The venue looks good, especially with the ability to store boats there until the Wave/14/17/18 North Americans occurring about 10 weeks later.

More details to follow.

Sounds good, Brad. I'm just putting ideas out there. Hell I MIGHT buy a new Wave by than! It's just good to know if boats are available, it would help with talking peolpe into trying a Wave :D

The YC looks really nice. http://www.singingriveryc.com. Thanks for the link, MVD.

We've never been to that part of the county, another big draw for us.

Nice chatting with you all, snow on the ground in Central New York this morning.

Is mississippi official? I will keep an I out for a NOR. Also does anyone know which fleet is in or around the PCB, Fl area, and who is the local dealer.

Big Air and no pitchpoles to all.

He's taking MWE, not the Mississippi Mini Mega. Caleb still hasn't given me the final edits on the MWE NOR.
