Nothing in the works that I am aware of. Wave/14/17/18s are all together in Mississippi and the 20/16s are together in Ft. Walton Beach and its looking like the Youth 16 and Waves will be in Southern California.

Unfortunatly scheduling prevents me from making Racine, Wi. I asked because we are setting our schedule for the year. This year was Arizona, And I believe 2011 Santa Cruz is bidding for the NA's.

Guess I'll just do a few more F-18 and Div 4 races.

The 2010 US (not NA) F18 Championship will be held on August 9-13 at the Racine Yacht Club in Racine, WI. Racing will take place on Lake Michigan. Very nice venue with WIDE sandy (no rocks) beaches. Guaranteed to be a major draw for F18's. The CAN F18 Championship date is TBD at this time.

I wonder if Tigers could be included with another regatta - instead of trying to hold a stand-alone regatta, which is difficult with 20 boats attending. Any of the other NA's been contacted about hosting the Tiger fleet in conjunction with another event?

The NAf18 website calls it the North Americans. Has that changed?

"We are very glad to announce the 2010 North American F18 Championship will be hosted by the Racine Yacht Club and Catamaran Racing Association of Wisconsin, August 9-13, 2010. This is a Combined event with Performance Race Week."

Matthew...

Correct me if I'm wrong...but the NAF18 organization is flirting with changing it's name to USF18 after their last AGM. This all has to do with with the F18 Worlds and how slots are allocated. Even though Canada is in North America, they are a separate country and are wanting slots awarded in the F18 Worlds. They have their own organization...the Canadian F18 Association and hold their own championships for that purpose. They are not to be lumped in together under the guise of North America as previously assumed by the NAF18. This was hotly and passionately debated by the Canadians at the last NAF18 AGM...forcing NAF18 to consider changing it's name (to USF18) to properely reflect the geographic differences and slot allocations.

In Hobiedom it's different where Canada is part of the HCA-NA and the championship regattas are known as North Americans.

Pints soon? PM me.

but isn't that just a keen way of getting three major championships on one continent?

There are no F18 Mexican championships, nor are there any for any of the other 23 North American countries.

So they have two major championships now. Canadians F18 Championship had greater attendance than the North Americans last year.

As of today there are 41 F18's registered for the North Americans. 50 boats is looking like a possibility.
