Hi Pat,now I have to think,I kind of do it like I gybe my Laser after the blocks clear the center of the boat I steer with the same tiller hand only behind my back, then I exchange hands behind my back after I come thru the gybe.I am still pretty sloppy I spent about 4 hrs on the boat this weekend (single handed) mostly just working on starting, sailing upwind for about 1000m tacking fom the wire and then gybiing 4-5 times on the way back to my starting bouy .I must have done well over 100 starts, tacks and gybes.Good fun practicing new stuff.Gavin has mentioned he might(if he gets motivated) put a video together of his gybing and tacking techniques. Pat that tacking technique you and I talked about works really well.My tacking from the wire has improved immensly. Also comming in off the wire around A mark has gotten better. The other thing I have been working on is steering down wind with the tiller out in front of me.Much like the Laser it makes for nice easy steering and sheet adjustments with both hands out in front. The other thing is I have been experimenting with a carbon tiller.Sure wish they were legal, much better then throwing around the heavy fiberglass ones.
