We couldn't make it, wanted to support Moyra and Cabot...
This was forwarded to me by Charles S.

CANADIAN F18 CHAMPIONSHIPSEditorials on the days racing - Day 1

Matt Bounds, PRO - Conditions were really nice when we first went out, 13 knots from the south west, first race went off and people were a bit antsy, there were 3 OCS boats. Wind built to 15 to 18 knots in the rest of that first race.

The waves built to 2 meters, and we were planning to run a 3rd race, then things went pear shaped quickly.

Best moments - boat flipping over right next to the committee boat. They managed to right the boat just in time before hitting the committee boat.

As the middle of the pack was finishing ni the 2nd race, the wind went nuclear, and that's when we pulled the plug.

45 Boats shown as registered, Moyra and Cabot are there, no results up as yet.

Anyone else got posts?

Mischa Heemskerk and Kevin Stittle win on a Tiger. I thought Tigers were going extinct on the F-18 stage. Maybe it is more about the sailors then the boat.

Those dudes could sail a sheet of plywood with a blue tarp for a sail and win. Still it's impressive that a Tiger can pull off a win against all of the new technology. Just goes t show how fair F18 racing is.

Not only was it a Tiger, it was a five year old Tiger (one of the 2005 Worlds boats).

Mischa and Kevin spent a couple of days reconfiguring / tuning it. A comment I heard, "Bob O. won't know how to rig his boat when he gets it back."
