It's on the Davis Island Yacht Club calendar, but not on the US SAILING Multihull Championship web site. Dave Ingram is the guy that would know what's going on for sure. He's at the F18 North Americans this week, but is on-line during the evenings - firstname.lastname@example.org
I will warn you that this is an "open" event, meaning all kinds of catamarans will be on the same starting line at the same time, racing on corrected time. Most of the boats there will be high-performance spinnaker boats. The Hobie 16 tends not to do well in these events.
If you've got the time, I recommend you go to the Hobie 16 North American Championships in Ft. Walton Beach, FL, Nov 7-11. You'll learn a lot more from the best 16 sailors on the continent. It's only about 120 miles further than Tampa, plus you get to sail for 5 or 6 days straight.
