FYI - Jordan (As well as myself) is a Canadian Citizen (Dual Citizenship) so he is truly a North American. We have flights booked and are in the process of making Hotel Arrangements - We have been delayed due to my wife Alison having her purse stolen Memorial day and having to re-issue credit cards, change bank accounts, get new keys cut, etc. but look to be back on track.

Jordan and Morgan will be representing Fleet 240 in Santa Cruz and the Santa Cruz Yacht Club. They and Nate and Ben are sailing in San Francisco Bay, Sausalito at the Hobie 16 North American Championships in just over one week.

We are going out to Woodward Reservoir here in Northern California to sail Saturday with Boy Scout Troop 234 (Jordan's Troop) and to provide sailing exposure to youth in Jordan's Troop. Both boys are very much looking forward to Annapolis.

I think the best phase to express how the event went is ....

... IT"S OUTA HERE !!!! ...

We knocked this one out of the park ... and into orbit ... those astronauts on the space station better duck ...

Our Hobie Kids were GREAT !!!!

Our "youts" looked great in the red polo shirts w/ "Hobie" embroidered on them ... carring the "Hobie Class/Starting Flags in the Opening ceremonies ... THANK YOU DOUG SKIDMORE AND DAN MAGNUS, for providing them !!!!!

Then again at "Dinner" in the Skipjack Lounge for the Junior Competitors (no flags indoors ...) on Friday, and this was a first for AYC ... to have Junior Sailors in the "Clubhouse" w/o a "parental escort" ... but able to sit at a table w/ their "pips" .... it was GREAT ... and was noticed by the members of AYC ... and they want to have this happen more often ....

How about a huge "festival tent" ... w/ (5) flags flying above it ... (3) OF WHICH ARE HOBIE CLASS FLAGS !!!!!! AWESOME !!!!! Can you believe it ????

And a GIGANTIC THANKS to the "Elves of Fleet 250 and "Lead Elf MRS JUDY RAYBON ... when you see the pictures of the trophies you will understand!!! They are FANTASTIC!!!!

Lots of great moments ... great pic's .... awesome memories ....

But since I just got home today ... (first in ==> last out ... are my rules) ... I'm just a wee-bit tired .... so more to follow ... but first I need some rest ... and a hot shower ....

Harry,

Congrats to you and the Elves for putting on a great event! I enjoyed chatting with you during my visit on Saturday afternoon. The Youts looked like they were having a great time and were totally stoked about the competition. This is exactly what our sport needs more of.
