It looks like my Hot Stick is wearing out. What do you recommend for tiller extensions for the H16?

"best" I think is very relative term... even for this. After I broke my last Hotstick I went to using the "stock" fiberglass extension. The only real problem I have with using it is that when the wind lets up and I am trapping off the front of the boat it is about 6 inches or so to short (I am a tall guy).

Other than that I like it a lot. No moving parts, and they have proven very tough to break.

I will buy/build a Carbon fiber stick probably over the winter as I have sailed with one and loved the light weight and excellent tiller feel. I am just concerned with my tendency to break things the Carbon not bending like the stock stick does when I do something stupid is going to break it and end up costing me races..

Goofing off this year I used a piece of bamboo.... I actually have it in my box as a spare.. I kinda like it..

Was the carbon fiber tiller extension you tried the Wild Cat one or another model?

It was built from carbon tube.... 'homemade'. Not a commercial part.

I have a thread here on the forum researching what to buy.

I am still hunting a couple broken hockey sticks to make mine out of. :-)

Sent from my stone tablet
