Hello,

The Tybee 500 has just finished and some of the same boats are doing the Outerbanks 500. It's ALL Nacra's & Inter's. Where is there a Hobie Team to compete?

I've seen normally Hobie teams go to N & I's just to be in the Race(s). Hobie, has boats with similar ratings but I still don't see a HOBIE out there.

I believe the Orignal Race - Worrell 1000 was on Hobie 16's.

Is there a reason?

Back in the day... it was all Hobie 16s, but the recent Worrell format was not a handicap race, so it wasn't friendly to the Hobie 20 as compared to some other 20 foot cats with more sail area. Also, the races are best when they are one design! Unless you are the one on the bigger faster boat with the latest sails and gear. That is what makes Hobie sailing so nice. It is all about the sailing skills... not the pocket book.
