Post subject:  A-Frame support stud pulled out of base

I am at Camp Hi-Sierra in California where one of the Hobie Bravos is down with a broken A-Frame.
Jeremy (Surf City) has the A-Frame on Order to direct ship to camp here.
The problem is during the wind storm that the front A-Frame support pulled out of the boat and broke out part of the anchor nut from the boat.
I could glue part of it but I dont think it would be strong enough to hold.
Any suggestions?

Is there a plate that could reinforce the base of this or an alternative?

I am thinking of taking a rudder connector and longer bolt and then drilling sideways and bolting through the A-Frame support base

Matt - has there been any problems with the front support pulling the base support "plug" out of the boat and is there anyone who has a way to repair this?

This puts one boat down for the youth for the boy scout program so I am trying to get this back into service ASAP.

Thanks for your help

- Dwight

There is a repair kit that through-bolts into the hull. I've got one here at the shop.

As Jeremy noted... there is a kit that allows a fix for a pulled insert or broken off bolt. We have not had this issue for many years as we moved to larger fasteners a long time ago... but still have this kit.
