Ok, so I have this lucky sailing hat... which may not be the prettiest, but my wife liked it better then the full brimmed hat that I wanted to get... (and may now have to).

It all started when I saw this YouTube video of a guy sailing a dinghy where he would gybe, and switch sides just a little bit late, so that the boat would keel over just a little bit, and his body would jump to the other side, and pull in the sail as it levelled out the boat, causing him to sort of jump start after the turn.

I tried it on the Bravo, and it was a LOT of fun, but when I took my video camera out to try it, my hands got all jumbled up, and my body moved late... well... then I lost my hat.

Weird thing is, I never could find it. I figured the video would give me some idea of where it went, but nope... I can't find it.

By the way, does anyone know of a good sun hat? Maybe a nice full brimmed hat like this one?

I really like the one above, but the store that sells it is discontinuing it, and only has extra large left. My brains are smaller then that.

It's an "Outdoor Research Sun Bucket Hat" I'm gonna have to google one soon because my follicles are quickly going the way of my lucky sailing hat, and that sun is bright!

I think your hat is in Davey Jones' locker! It never re-surfaced after you did, so it kept on going down, down, down... There's probably a big walleye wearing it now.

I lost a nice safari-style hat a couple weeks ago. It even had a chin cord, but the wind caught it just wrong, and away it went. I circled around just in time to see it slip into the murky depths... gone forever!

I now wear a nylon "Panama Jack" hat, full brim with ventilation around the top, and a chin cord (which I loop behind my ears now).

That is a really funny video. the part Ilike the best is that you are smiling as you re-mount. Whenever i capsize, I find myself laughing. Go figure, Hobies are fun.

I have a Harley Davidson straw hat that not only looks good, it floats, and it gives everyone the impression I am a bad ass. And, it matches my Thompson.
