Post subject:  Twist-and-seal hatch retrofit

This question is probably best directed to Matt, unless someone else has done this retrofit.

I have a Bravo, 2004 I think, with the old-style hatches with the removable lids. They seem to leak some despite cleaning and lubing the seals, so I'm considering replacing them. The question is, will the newer style twist-and-seal hatches directly replace the old 6" and 8" hatches without modification? In other words, will the mounting hole pattern line up?

By the way, how can I tell for sure what year model my boat is? I seem to have read that the last two digits of the serial number indicate the year. Is this correct?

The 6" is a match for the old Viking hatch hole pattern. The 8" requires 2 extra screws.

Get the hatch "retro kits". That includes mounting gaskets and the screws needed on the 8".
