I took a 3 day trip on my bravo recently and had a lot of fun and a bit of trouble. I broke the metal wire that runs through the rudder/tiller and to the block.

pictures of this can be seen on my blog.

I would have never before checked this but now that i know how it sits i will check it a lot more regularly. it is kind of hard to check because it is covered on a black sleeve. so bravo owners do yourself a favor and check yours. it just might save you a lot of trouble. I was able to limp back to shore with some help from some trash rope i found on the island and some duct tape.

So this brings up the question. What spare parts if any do you sail with regularly? I am now going to seriously reconsider what i pack in my hatch bag in the back before I set sail.

Safe Sailing.

That looks like a great trip! I'm hoping to do a short trip on my Bravo soon too!

What year is your Bravo? Mine doesn't have that wire, but a different assembly.
