Post subject:  Hobie Bravo vs Wave video

With its longer hulls (less resistance) and greater sail area, obvious that a Wave is faster than a Bravo... But, saw a Wave this past weekend, and thought I’d see if I could keep pace. Found that a Bravo with 86 sq ft of sail performs very well vs a Wave with 40% more sail area (95 main sail + 25 jib = 120 sq ft). Yes, I know, two aboard the Wave, but still...

(And yes, that’s my finger at the top of the video. Still getting used to my waterproof camera...)

Dude - To be fair, you were sailing a lower course than he. Your broad reach bested his much higher course.

That said, the Bravo does boogie nicely with minimal fuss!

comment about broader to wind is correct but did you notice the wave had a jib (pointing ability and speed improvement). I'd say the Bravo did well.
